Ballymoney Hockey Club is an ambitious, community centered club. In the upcoming season our 2ndXI team will play in Junior 1.
The season runs from August (preseason) to late April/early May. Training is on Wednesday evenings and is based in the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre, Ballymoney.
Remuneration based on experience. Travel expenses available if required.
Qualifications, skills and attributes
- Experience coaching
- Minimum of Ulster Hockey / Hockey Ireland Level 1 Coaching Qualification or equivalent
- Excellent management, interpersonal and communication skills
- Completed relevant Safeguarding Course / training
- References must be made available at request of BHC
- Be eligible to work in Northern Ireland (UK/Irish passport or valid work permit)
Responsibilities
- To produce and implement a well-structured and progressive coaching programme to meet the squad and individual needs of Ballymoney Hockey Club 2nd XI
- To abide by the values and Code of Conduct of the club
- Coach the squad during match day fixtures
- Oversee selection for league matches, in line with the Club Selection Policy
- To work in a collaborative manner with the senior coaching team, as well as key club personnel. This requires excellent communication skills.
- Support the integration of our junior players into the senior training/playing environment and development of all players.
- Support retention and return of Senior Players to the club by offering regular constructive feedback to individuals and the squad
- Involvement in the recruitment of team managers / assistant coaches in conjunction with BHC Committee
