On Saturday the 3rd XI hosted Mossley in the early match at the Joey Dunlop Leisure. It was to prove a tough encounter for the home side who only had 11 players, some of whom were forced to play out of position.
The game started at a fast pace with Ballymoney struggling to get out of their defensive half. Both midfield and defence work tirelessly under wave after wave of attack- However the visitors found the Money side was difficult to break down and it took them until close to half time to score the opener.
The second half proved more evenly matched. The Ballymoney girls dug deep and hard work and determination lead to a few attempts on goal- unfortunately none of which were successful! Mossley sealed the victory close to the end with a 2nd goal, effectively killing off the game. The final score 2-0 to the visitors.
Ballymoney would like to thank Aine for stepping in to umpire at the last minute and Lauren for coaching.
